His childhood ambition was clear: not to be a soccer player, as many of his peers aspired, but to manage them, aiming to become an entrepreneur capable of influencing and supporting others.

At the center of Giuseppe's life was his family: his father Calogero, a resilient man with various entrepreneurial ventures; his mother Linda, a figure of strength; and his younger siblings. His grandmother Ester, a schoolteacher, was a beacon of wisdom and learning. For Giuseppe, the family was – and is - not just a part of life; they are his life, his guiding star.
First Steps as an Entrepreneur
With only 15 years old, Giuseppe and his father embarked on an ambitious journey, opening an innovative restaurant in Sicily. This endeavor was not just a business; it was a testament to Giuseppe's vision and Calogero's trust in his son's dreams. However, economic turbulence in Italy forced them to look beyond Sicily's shores, bringing them to Germany, a land of promise and challenges. However, his father Calogero warned Giuseppe that the choice to follow him to Germany would be his own and that in the future he would have to take responsibility for the choice: in school his career would have been brilliant, but his entrepreneurial dreams were always bigger!
The German Odyssey
Arriving in Germany at 17, Giuseppe found himself facing an unfamiliar world. Language barriers, cultural differences, and the arduous task of establishing himself in a foreign land. But Giuseppe, with his indomitable spirit, embraced these challenges. Together with Calogero, they turned a struggling restaurant in North Rhein Westphalia (NRW) into a culinary landmark. Giuseppe's approach to pizza preparation became very famous in town, creating an unmatched authentic Italian experience.
The Language of Dreams
Learning German was not just a necessity for Giuseppe; it became a mission. His self-taught journey through Duolingo and interactions with the people of NRW is a story of determination and adaptability. Today, his German is excellent, a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence. Giuseppe speaks fluently Italian, English, German, and Spanish.
Expanding Horizons: The Gelato Venture
Giuseppe's entrepreneurial spirit led him to undertake a summer gelato venture, a heartfelt commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic. This business was about more than just selling ice cream; it was about bringing smiles to faces in a time of global despair. It was an endeavor that reflected Giuseppe's innate desire to connect, bring joy, and be a part of people's lives.
The Birth of Poveracci in Berlin
But Giuseppe's dreams were bigger than NRW. Berlin called, and with it came Poveracci, a restaurant set to transform under Giuseppe's guidance. He infused Poveracci with his soul, charisma, and passion for gastronomy, turning it into a celebration of life and Italian cuisine. August 2022 marked a turning point, not just for Poveracci, but for Giuseppe's dreams.
